- We need to reach a consensus.（意見をまとめなければなりません）
Words
- keep 〜 to ... = 〜は……だけにしておく
- apology (n) = 〔招待に対する〕丁寧な断り（状）〔通例複〕
- one of those = よくある〜
- It's just one of those things.（それは世の中のいろいろな出来事のうちの一つだ／よくあることだ／よくある話さ）
Note
- keep to や one of those things など、耳慣れない語があり、必ずしもわかりやすかったわけではないが、シャドウイング自体はダイアログ2で成功。
- apologies に「欠席届」「欠席者」の意味があるとは。
- The thing is, it takes a lot of time to reach a consensus in a meeting.（つまりミーティングで合意を得るのにかなり時間がかかるんです）【2015, Lesson 37】
- So we need to build a broad consensus before an important meeting.（ですから重要な会議の前には、幅広い合意形成が必要なのです）【2015, Lesson 45】
